Working in a hospital environment means we are exposed to a lot of unwell individuals and in some circumstances people are fighting for their life, or suffering despite medical / surgical, specialist services, nursing input etc.

Every person I have cared for has affecting me in some way or another. Some cases are extremely strenuous emotionally and require a good support network of colleagues and loved ones to debrief, reflect and often cry to release our own emotions, because after all we are human too and self care is extremely important for those working in health care.
