I m not a surgeon but if I was advising someone who wanted this I would say they need to work so hard for years and years to develop the skills and knowledge they would need. They would need to be prepared to be awake in the night and respond to emergencies as well as doing the routine surgery. I would also suggest that they looked at all the health care professions before deciding that I should what they wanted. There are lots of options from theatre practitioners, scrub and recovery nurses, anaesthetists etc all of whom are involved in the process but maybe do t actually operate on the patient.
