The best part of being in the NHS is that we are all striving for the same outcomes. Its like one huge family. Despite lots of trouble and problems with money etc etc the NHS is always here for us all. To be a tiny part of that always makes me proud.

Working for a large organisation means you are well established and part of a team. You are also privileged enough to get holiday pay and if found unwell, sick pay too. You are given bespoke training to enable safe and effective practice and are well supported through guidance of hierarchy.

It is a privilege to be a part of such a bespoke service, whom that strives to achieve the same outcomes and vision and as a nation we are unique in having our precious NHS.

There is a very clear support structure in place in our team, which means you are very well looked after whether you are a student or an experienced therapist. There is high value placed on Continued Professional Development and even the most experienced therapists have opportunities to continue learning and develop their skills. Yes, there are a fair few rules to follow but it means that everyone stays safe (patients and staff).
I also have a really awesome team that are mates as well as work colleagues.

Working for the NHS you get a lot more out of your job than the money you are paid to do it. You are always learning new things, especially from the patients you see. You work in a great team of people who are always ready to support you and you can try lots of different things throughout your working life so it never gets boring. The best thing for me about being a GP is never knowing what I will be asked next and looking after my patients who are older than 90. I think if you manage to get to the age of 90 and still be enjoying life then you can give me whatever advice you like on how to live mine.
